Abstract

Systematic updating of forensic methodologies is essential to strengthen the Cuban Criminalistics Technical System and ensure reliable expert responses adapted to contemporary challenges. This constitutes an imperative necessity to guarantee the efficacy, objectivity, and quality of investigations. The scientific method and adoption of national and international standards are presented within the historical and regulatory framework that supports this process. As an innovative contribution, this work proposes for the first time in Cuban Criminalistics a restructured protocol comprising four stages, supported by measurable indicators to assess and monitor methodological updates. Furthermore, it includes a detailed action plan designed to enhance scientific rigor in each identified aspect, based on preliminary diagnostics conducted with criminalistics experts.
