Lynching is a phenomenon that still persists in different parts of the world. In Angola it has reached worrying proportions, particularly in the capital city. Lynching cases essentially occur among young people, adults and rarely children. This practice, in addition to being an illegal act in itself, has numerous consequences in several aspects. This scientific article is based on a study carried out in Bairro do Golfe 2, which aims to understand lynching, from the perspective of victims. Although the word lynching is not part of the Angolan legal system, it does not mean that its commission does not constitute an illegal act, on the contrary, this practice is punishable under the terms of the Angolan criminal system. This research is extremely important, and the study will allow readers of the Golfe 2 community and beyond to understand that the practice of lynching is an illicit act and constitutes a crime.
