Abstract

This study aimed to describe the development of a patient management system for the Malanje General Hospital. The initiative seeks to address pressing challenges identified in the hospital unit, namely the absence of technological infrastructure, data loss, administrative inefficiency, and delays in medical care services. The proposed solution consisted of implementing a hospital management system designed to improve service efficiency. The field research employed a mixed approach and used descriptive, applied, and exploratory methods. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The system development was guided by the SCRUM methodology, which was divided into the following phases: planning, development, review, retrospective, and deployment. This methodology allowed for the creation of a flexible and productive working environment. The project results include the presentation of a main dashboard for administrators and users, as well as a detailed consultation screen for health professionals. Improvements were demonstrated in patient data visualization, appointment scheduling, and reduction of service time. In conclusion, the computational solution is an essential tool that will assist hospital managers in decision-making and in the improvement of administrative procedures, positively impacting the quality of medical and pharmacological assistance provided.
